This programme is a practical and critical introduction to the philosophy, values, policies and practices of Human Resource Management (HRM) in the context of developing countries and transitional economies.

It is designed to; * provide participants with an understanding of contemporary developments in the HR field, and the ability to critically appraise them in the light of their own professional roles/backgrounds,
* to develop a sensitive appreciation of the importance of the contextual settings of HRM.

The programme is designed for individuals involved in the HR aspects of organisations in developing and transitional countries. They may be personnel practitioners such as personnel managers/officers, human resource officers or planners, or they may be line managers concerned broadly with the management of people in organisations. These enable you to study the implementation of HRM in a practical work setting. Special features An overseas field visit is an integral part of the programme. The cost of the visit is included in the programme fee. In addition, participants may undertake research visits to organisations applying information systems in practice in the UK. Fieldcourses may be scheduled at any point during the twelve-month period of the degree programme and this may include during University vacations.
