Location of University of Oxford

The study of all branches of engineering in Oxford is encompassed in a single, unitary Department of Engineering Science. The opportunities in the Department for postgraduate study and research include the conventional disciplines of engineering such as chemical, civil, electrical, and mechanical, as well as information engineering, applications of engineering to medicine, low-temperature engineering, and experimental plasma physics.

This 12-month full-time course is aimed at graduates with a good first degree in engineering, or the physical sciences to prepare them for careers in biomedical engineering in industry, healthcare (including the UK National Health Service) and research.

The 12-month full-time course is aimed at graduates with a good first degree in engineering, or the physical sciences to prepare them for careers in biomedical engineering in industry, healthcare (including the UK National Health Service) and research.

The taught components in the initial stages of the course will provide a core education in biomedical engineering followed by more specialist topics at an advanced level in the second term. Lectures and classes will be complimented by laboratory sessions and a team project.

A major part of the MSc will be a dissertation on a research project undertaken in one of the six thematic research areas of the new Oxford Institute for Biomedical Engineering. Students will also be trained in computational methods and research skills.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

* IELTS: an overall score of 7.5
* TOEFL: an overall score of 630
* Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) Grade B.
