You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
More informationTo apply for the Oxford MBA, you should have:
1. A good undergraduate degree or equivalent As guidance, a 2.1 degree (GPA 3.5 or its equivalent). Applicants who do not hold such a qualification may be considered if they have a very strong employment record demonstrating a high degree of responsibility.
2. GMAT scoreAll candidates are required to take the GMAT test. The average GMAT score of our MBA students is around 680. A high score does not guarantee a place, nor does a low score automatically disqualify your application. However, as several of the programme's core courses require a high level of quantitative and analytical skills we do look for evidence of these in GMAT results.
3. Relevant professional experience Oxford MBA students, on average, have five or six years' work experience. An important component of the programme's success is the contribution made from students' diverse career paths. Whilst most of our students have more than three years experience, we do consider those with less work experience. If this is the case, we look for candidates who are able to demonstrate a high level of maturity, combined with evidence of leadership ability.
4. A Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test Scheme (IELTS).You do not need to take the TOEFL or IELTS test if you have either:
- Studied full time at degree level for a continuous period of 3 years in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, USA or UK.
- Recently lived and worked for a continuous period of 3 years in any of the previously stated countries.
If your circumstances fall outside the above, please contact the admissions office to discuss your case.
Please note that we reserve the right to request a test of English to be taken at any time.
If you do not meet these criteria, a TOEFL or IELTS test will be required.
