This degree offers an opportunity to undertake a study, normally on a part-time basis over two years, leading to the production of a 25,000 word dissertation. In keeping with the Departmental tradition of applied educational research, applications from students wishing to study current trends and developments in education are particularly welcomed.
The Autumn term of the first year of the part time programme consists of nine weekly sessions (Tuesday evenings 6.30pm - 8.00pm) on Research Methods. Each student will be allocated a supervisor who will have responsibility for guiding and aiding the student in the production and submission of the dissertation on their research topic. For the part-time version there will normally be at least two supervisions per term over the two-year period of registration. While the programme is normally studied over two years part-time a full-time option is available.
