CSR and environmental management are becoming key issues for a wide range of businesses and organisations, both in the UK and overseas, as they seek to resolve longstanding operational and competitive challenges using socially and environmentally friendly technologies and processes.
The context of the programme will be international, reflecting the increasing trend towards the globalisation of business organisation and the transnational nature of environmental problems faced by the corporate sector and regulators and policy-makers.
The programme is suitable for those aiming for careers in management both in the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, which require an understanding of CSR, and environmental management.
The programme incorporates a range of modules from business management and environmental science including compulsory modules in Corporate Social Responsibility and Risk, Continuity and Change in Organisations, Qualitative Research Methods, Tools for Environmental Assessment, Social and Environmental Accounting, Climate Change and Carbon Management, and Quantitative Methods and Data Analysis, and Financial Management.
Optional modules may include the Management of Human Resources, Strategic Management and Organisational Change, the study of Business Information Systems, Innovation and Technology Management, Operations and Project Management, Environment, Law and Policy, Pollution Control and Waste Management, Environmental Economics, Environmental Science and Management Case Studies, and Environmental Contaminants: Pathways and Processes. The programme also incorporates a dissertation component involving independent research in any aspect of CSR and Environmental management covered by the syllabus.

Register Now!Applicants should have a good first degree (2:1 or equivalent) in any relevant subject for example; management, finance, economics, environmental science, geography, geology or joint honours with the above.
Applicants with a 2:2 degree in the above or related subjects with relevant supplementary work experience are welcomed, for instance a track record in business management or prior engagement in a CSR role.
No prior knowledge of science is needed but the programme does include quantitative and financial modules for which applicants will be required to demonstrate experience or knowledge of quantitative approaches and/or economics. Students will need to have a good level of mathematical/statistical ability as demonstrated, for example, by having completed a first degree that includes elements of economics, accounting or finance.
For students whose first language is not English, we normally require evidence of English language ability.
Typical offers for students from other countries
China: offers range from 80 to 85 in the four year bachelor’s degree. Diplomas are not accepted.
Greece: GPA of at least 6.5 in undergraduate degree
India: First-class undergraduate degree
Malaysia: GPA of at least 3 in undergraduate degree

English Language requirements
Applicants for whom English is not their first language should provide evidence of English language competence. Acceptable qualifications are:
IELTS: with overall score of 6.5 with a minimum of 6.5 in Writing and 6.0 in other components
TOEFL: 96in the Internet-based test with a minimum of 24 for writing, 23 for speaking, 23 for listening and 23 for reading.

Pre-Masters Programme (Graduate Diploma in Academic Communication)
Applicants for Masters programmes in the Management School, Politics, Physics, Social Practice and Social Work or Women’s studies, with an IELTS result of 5.5, can take the University’s Pre-Masters programme. This programme provides spoken and written skills development in specific subject areas, as well as preparation for Postgraduate level study in a UK environment.
