The Master's Programme will enable students:
- to understand the complex processes and specific demands of transition countries
- to link the various areas of transition, as economic, legal, political, social, agricultural, and environmental
aspects and their interrelation
- to gain knowledge as well as practical competences on methods and strategies to enhance
the transition process
- to train their soft skills by learning and working in international and interdisciplinary teams.
By the end of the course students will be skilled in devising integrative approaches to transition issues
applicable to the private and public sector.
Target Group: The Master's Programme appeals to students who are interested in both learning about the complex problems of transition countries as well as developing approaches to overcome these problems by linking economic, political, and environmental aspects. A background in relate sciences is required. The central target group for the study programme are primarily graduates from transition countries who want to deepen and broaden their knowledge by attending this further education programme.
The Master's Programme is designed to be completed within three semesters. It always starts with the summer term (April). All courses are taught in English. The number of students is limited to 30.
The curriculum is structured into 12 modules. Except 10 teaching (6 compulsory and 4 profile) modules the study programme includes the internship and the completion of the master thesis. Every module is valued with credit points in accordance with ECTS.

The first semester focuses on fundamental economic, agricultural economic, legal, and political knowledge with regard to transition issues. Besides the 4 core modules it also includes one profile module.
The second semester is dedicated to the imparting of methodological knowledge for the analysis of transition problems and to the introduction of practical approaches and case studies. Moreover, students will be able to create their own profile through optional modules in the area of agriculture, nurition, and environment.
The third semester begins with an internship at organisations or companies cooperating with transition countries. Moreover it mainly contains the individual work on the Master thesis.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Register Now!* At least a Bachelor in agriculture, nutrition, natural or environmental sciences, economics, law, or political science with an ECTS grade of B- or higher and 180 ECTS credit points (or an officially equivalent accepted academic degree);
* Language requirements: as all classes are given in English, a good level of English (written as well as spoken) is mandatory. Accepted as a language proofs are: 550 points in TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language) or 6 points in IELTS Academic Test (International English Language Testing System).
