The programme provides a theoretical grounding in applied social psychology, along with the methodological techniques you need to apply social psychology to real-world issues as part of active research work.
The programme is recognised by ESRC as meeting its training requirements if taken full-time.
Aims
* to promote and facilitate an extensive knowledge of the real-world applicability and application of social psychological theory
* to develop skills in research methodology
* to provide experience of conducting high-quality research of a standard appropriate for publication in prestigious academic journals
* to develop further students' communication and presentation skills, as well as an ability to use relevant computer software.
The MSc consists of eight taught modules and an empirical dissertation. The dissertation offers an opportunity to carry out an in-depth piece of original research under the individual supervision of a member of faculty who is an expert in the chosen area.
Please note that if you take the programme full-time, you complete the MSc within one year. If you take it part-time, it will take two years. The courses marked with an asterisk* in the table are those that you will take in year 1, if you are part-time.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
