Biomedical Engineering (also called Bioengineering) is an exciting and growing field which resides at the interfaces between engineering, biology and medicine. The broad goal of biomedical engineering is to solve human health problems through advances in diagnosis, treatment and/or prevention of human disease.

Our Masters program offers tracks in the following areas:

* Bioimaging
* Bioelectronics
* Biomechanics
* Molecular Bioengineering

The Masters Degree in Biomedical Engineering is a joint program of the: Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (D-ITET) (leading house) and Department of Mechanical & Processing Engineering (D-MAVT)


Contents

90 credit points are required to obtain a Master of Science ETH in Biomedical
Engineering. According to the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), each credit point corresponds to approximately 25-30 hrs. of work. In most instances, the classroom course work is completed in the first two semesters of the program. The semester project requires a 50% work load and is generally done in the second semester of the program. The 6 month masters thesis project is started once all other requirements are completed.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

The Biomedical Engineering Masters Program seeks talented students with a Bachelors degree in engineering, physics or mathematics awarded by an internationally-recognized University. The program is 100% in English.
