Course Content
This course consists of four modules focusing on the theoretical and practical aspects of teaching English in the more specialised area of English for Academic Purposes (EAP).
You will take the following 15-credit modules:
* Introduction to Teaching English for Academic Purposes
* English for Academic Purposes and New Technologies
* Issues in Teaching English for Academic Purposes
* Assessment in English for Academic Purposes

These modules aim to give you the skills and experience needed for teaching English for Academic Purposes, and encourage you to develop your awareness of key topical issues in this area and how these relate to classroom practice.
The course will also encourage you to develop the awareness necessary to exploit new technologies for learning and teaching in the EAP context.
Course Structure
This course is studied by a combination of a two-week, full-time introduction to Teaching English for Academic Purposes module in July and three modules by distance learning.
You will be required to take 60 credits´ worth of modules.
The Introduction to Teaching English for Academic Purposes module is assessed by the completion of a 2500-word assignment as well as a taught lesson and a post-lesson reflective written evaluation. The rest of the modules are assessed by the completion of a 2500- or 3000-word assignment.
