This programme offers students the chance to combine the study of a major European language - French, German, or Spanish - in the context of its related global cultures.
During the programme, a balance is maintained between the study and use of the target language and the analysis of related cultural aspects. Students will have the opportunity to consolidate and develop their overall linguistic expertise, before engaging in more specific language applications later in the programme. At the same time, by applying research skills, students will acquire an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the creation and representation of cultural identities within their political and historical contexts.
Delivery of the programme combines intensive one-day weekend sessions on campus and directed independent study with online support.
