Qualifications and durations
* Full-time MSc 1 year
* Part-time MSc 2 years
Students taking the MSc in Mathematical Sciences in one year by full-time study will commence work in September, take ten 6-credit units during the following two semesters, and undertake a 30-credit project leading to a dissertation between the end of the second semester and the end of the academic year.
In addition, simultaneous training in key research and transferable skills, such as report writing, presentation skills and the use of electronic databases, are available to students: this component is taken in conjunction with students on the MSc in Modern Applications of Mathematics and supplement the lectured material.
The ten 6-credit units (five units in Semester 1 and five units in Semester 2) are selected from prescribed lists of units intersecting the MSc in Modern Applications of Mathematics programme and the MMath programme (possibly augmented, on an ad hominem basis, by specialist guided-reading courses). At least seven of the ten units must be selected from the union of List A1 and List A2 which comprises M Level material.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
