The key questions addressed in the Master´s degree programme in Psychology concern how people perform and function in taskrelated and interactive settings, and what individual, social and environmental factors influence their functioning and performance. These key questions are addressed theoretically and in an applied framework, such as environmental or health psychology. The cultural context of human behaviour is a major focus of interest.
The aim of the Master´s degree programme is to teach students advanced knowledge and skills and to train them in fundamental and applied research in a specialized area within psychology with an emphasis on Cognitive and Social Psychology.
The programme offered in English normally does not provide students the opportunity of vocational training in Clinical and Developmental Psychology as this requires proficiency in the Dutch language.
Career prospectsStudents who have successfully completed the Master´s programme may pursue a career in fundamental or applied research or may pursue a career as consultant or policy advisor in a wide range of areas related to human behaviour in the public or private sector. The Master´s degree qualifies students to continue their training by applying for a Ph.D. position.
