Information systems play an important role in the design, control, support and improvement of business processes. These systems are for most organizations the most vital resources.
The Masters degree program in Business Information Systems combines computer science and business management. The program places the emphasis on the development of high-quality information systems based on a business perspective. As a graduate of this program you will combine a scientific attitude with a model-driven engineering approach. You will be able to understand the demands that are placed on information systems, and to initiate and implement new applications. The combination of a scientific attitude with the practical approach of an engineer forms an excellent basis for an interesting career. You are trained to design information systems based on a business perspective. That means you will play an unquestioned key role in information-rich business processes, such as manufacturing, distribution or business services. You will be able to find interesting and challenging work in large and medium-size organizations in the development of nformation systems and the design of automated business processes.

The Master's degree program Business Information Systems lasts two years. Each year consists of 60 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).
These credit points are subdivided as follows:
First year
- Compulsory courses (67%)
- Electives (33%)
Second year
- Final project (67%)
- Electives (33%)
- possibly including an internship of max. 15%
The compulsory courses form a balanced combination of subjects from the Computer Science and the Industrial engineering subdepartments.

Some of the elective courses you will take will serve to prepare you for your specialization. If your Bachelor of Science (BSc) is in Business or Industrial Management you might want to deepen your knowledge of this field or broaden your knowledge of Computer Science. If your BSc is in Computer Science you can also choose subjects from Computer Science or from Business or Industrial Engineering.
Another possibility is to choose to broaden your general knowledge, for example by choosing subjects from one of the other Master programs of the Departments.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
