The International MBA is a unique learning experience that starts before the core period continues with the IMBA+ where you can customize your MBA and never ends as you will be always part of IE thanks to Alumni Association and IE Communities.

Before starting the program you have the option of enroling the Intensive Spanish Course targeting students who have basic knowledge of Spanish. Besides for the students that do not come from a business background, the optional pre-program in Quantitative Analysis or Financial Accounting, offered either online or on campus, is a good option to learn concepts critical to the program.

The opening ceremony is a big event to celebrate of the beginning of your International MBA journey. It typically takes place on IE’s Segovia campus where you will also have a tour of the beautiful city, as well as of IE University’s campus. Check out the video.

Immediately after the Opening Ceremony, you will attend the Orientation Days, during which you will learn a bit more about IE Business School, Madrid and your environment before you get into your studies. The Orientation Days combine a great chance to socialize, make new friends, and get a feel for IE Business School with preparatory seminars and workshops. Orientation Days are a mandatory part of the International MBA program.

The ground-breaking LAUNCH module kicks-off the program and develops participants’ personal and inter-personal skills through innovative workshops in areas such as team-building, critical thinking, cross-cultural communication, creativity, and decision-making. This is followed by the Core Period in which courses on quantitative analysis, economics, marketing, accounting, and organizational behavior lay the foundation for the rest of the program. Participants also begin their transformation into true entrepreneurs, as the two-term entrepreneurial management course gets underway

Change in Action makes change real, as industry leaders and experts help students plot plans to turn challenges into opportunities. This sets up for the Core Period 2, in which participants acquire the global vision that makes the difference. The management of people, of technology and of the firm's social and political environment in different countries becomes the main focus. The program continues with the Core Period 2, in which the triple core of management – Strategy, Finance, and Operations – takes center stage.

Almost all of IE Business School’s classes employ the case method to drive the learning experience, though professors also frequently use other techniques, such as role-playing, multimedia applications, and online business simulations. IE classes are not abstract or focused on theory; instead participants learn concepts, tools and theoretical foundations of management through the examination of real companies in the real world. Students are assigned to small working groups designed to maximize diversity in which they discuss and prepare cases and complete assignments.

You will have an assigned section for the core periods where you will be rotating small working groups in each of the different core periods. You will have a different section for the change modules for you to mix with more students and take advantage of this opportunity to maximize your networking opportunities.

The class profile reflects IE’s Diversity as this implies diversity at various levels: academic backgrounds, gender, sectors, and nationalities. This great mix will maximize your learning here at IE, and make for a truly international Master in Business Administration experience.
