The sport industry and employment opportunities in the industry continue to expand throughout the world. However, alongside this growth there has also developed a more competitive labour market and higher expectations of organisations, managers and customers within the sport industry.
The MA/MSc in Sport Business Management aims to provide specialist training for individuals working in sport or those seeking a professional management career in the sport industry.

Students who wish to build their competencies in business skills such as finance, economics and statistical analysis may opt for the MSc route. For applicants who prefer to develop their training and skills in marketing and human resource management, for example, the MA route offers a more appropriate choice.
Students on the MA/MSc Sport Business Management programme will be required to successfully complete the following subject areas over three semesters. Students will also be expected to undertake a sport dissertation or company internship report*.

The internship programme
As part of the Sport Business Management MA/MSc degree students have the option of enrolling on the internship programme.
This module normally lasts between 8-12 weeks and provides students with an opportunity to undertake a workplace project on behalf of an organisation.

Eligibility
Students must successfully meet the following assessment criteria:
* Academic - successful completion of all Semester 1 modules including research methods at the first attempt
* CV Short listing - Submit a CV, which will be used for competitive short listing by the internship panel.
* Presentation - prepare and successfully deliver a formal presentation
* Interview- interview with the university internship panel
Assessment
After completing the Internship, you are required to write an extensive report based on the managerial and educational experience derived from the internship itself and present your findings to both the employers and academic staff.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

The course is conducted in English and so those applicants whose first language is not English are normally required to hold IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. Coventry University also has an English Academy(CUEA) which runs specialist English courses of 5, 10 and 15 weeks.
