The Information Technology MBA course has been designed for those who wish to develop their knowledge and skills in the management of businesses and not-for-profit organisations.
The particular emphasis on information technology will allow the developing manager to gain an insight into the potential that IT can offer to the improved effectiveness and competitive position of a business.
On successful completion of this course you may be able to secure a career in management. Your in-depth knowledge and understanding on IT in modern business should aid career progress.

Course content
The course requires full-time study over 12 months. It is divided into three semesters and you may start the course in either late September or early February. The course may also be taken on a part-time basis by attending the University just two evenings a week. See our part-time course list for details. You will study ten single modules (or their equivalent) during the first two semesters. All the assessments for the modules, whether coursework assignments or written examinations, occur within the semesters. At the end of these first two semesters, if you have satisfactorily completed the taught part of the course, you become eligible for a Postgraduate Diploma and may progress to the dissertation which is undertaken over
The core of the programme is shared with all Coventry University MBAs - strategy, marketing, finance and human resource management.
In addition, the role of the IS/IT function is evaluated from a strategic viewpoint. The role that IT plays in the development of the organisation as a whole and the management strategies that are necessary for the delivery of IS/IT are examined.
The emerging role of e-commerce and the new demands this places on IS/IT will be explored. Students will write a dissertation on a management issue that involves an aspect of IS/IT.
