The Law LLM programme offers great flexibility in choosing your programme of advanced legal study if you do not wish to commit to a specified route. You can study for a postgraduate certificate, a postgraduate diploma or LLM by choosing from a range of law modules selected in consultation with the course leader.
Modules will have a social and human rights context and you will also study research methods modules.

Reasons to choose Law LLM degree

* Suits new graduates as well as being continuing professional development for academics, legal practitioners, police and others in the criminal justice sector, employers and administrators
* Full-time and part-time study is available
* Taught via a mixture of weekly workshops and self-directed study
* Opportunity to critically analyse and evaluate the relevant specialist laws
* Academic staff encourage individual research
* Contribute to the school’s own publication, the Coventry Law Journal

Graduates of the Law LLM generally go into teaching and research or just use the specialist knowledge in the fields that they have studied - international Law, International Business Law, employment, criminal justice and human rights.

Contents

For each LLM, you will undertake the equivalent of 10 taught modules and a dissertation. Normally, you will study four core areas and two research options (together constituting the postgraduate diploma stage).
Successful completion of only five modules leads to a postgraduate certificate.
After completion of the postgraduate diploma, you may achieve the LLM by undertaking a 12,000-word research dissertation.
Any of these courses may form part of a continuing professional development (CPD) programme.
