Design is a natural partner for ergonomic study. High quality industrial design is complimented by the science of ergonomics making this a desirable MA degree for those from a human-centred or a design background.

Designers wishing to improve their knowledge of the design process and enhance their communication skills will be suited to this Design and Ergonomics MA degree.

* You will be introduced to new design concepts, modelling of new designs and project realisations strategies.
* This MA will enhance your considerations of global human factors.
* Projects and employment is available in the automotive, consumer product and transportation industries.

Your future

You will be prepared for a role as a design ergonomist which may allow you to offer improved ergonomics skills within your design practice.
There are roles for design ergonomists and human factors specialists in design consultancies such as global IDEO and PPD. The design studios of large companies such as Landrover, Phillips as well as ergonomics consultancies, also offer opportunities.


Contents

The course provides a framework of professional development modules that can be studied in the workplace as well as full time. Modules may be used as part of a continuing professional development programme.

Requirements

Applicants should have an undergraduate degree in design, ergonomics or a related subject plus an interest in the practice of design.

Applicants whose first language is not English must have a minimum IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 600 or equivalent.
