You take compulsory modules (60 credits) that cover: business and environmental management; sustainable industry; sustainable design and manufacture; practical environmental auditing; energy management; and pollution monitoring. In addition, you choose optional modules (60 credits) from a list that may include: sustainable processing and energy materials technology; occupational and environmental monitoring; air pollution; contaminated land; aspects of renewable energy; and environmental engineering for developing countries.
MSc students then complete a four-month research project, which may be industry based (subject to availability), leading to a dissertation (60 credits). Where possible, and subject to availability, industry-based projects are offered as paid placements.

A minimum of a second-class (2.2) Honours degree, or equivalent, in any pure or applied science or engineering subject. Applicants whose first language is not English require a minimum of IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based) or 577 (paper-based), or equivalent.
