This course will interest graduates from chemistry, mathematics, physics, computing science and engineering who wish to widen their skills base and develop problem solving capabilities in a multidisciplinary environment. The course will also be attractive to mature students seconded from industry who need to update and expand their technological expertise.

The recent surge in activity as a result of the US FDA Process Analytical Technology (PAT) initiative has seen a significant increase in need for the skills gained within the PAQT MSc. The potential job market for graduates is diverse and includes the chemical, biochemical, food, pharmaceutical or materials processing industries, together with SMEs such as analytical instrument and control systems vendor companies.

The aim of the course is to train a new generation of postgraduates who are excited by working at the boundaries of engineering, science and management. Key training areas will be in applied mathematics and statistics, chemical and process engineering, quality technology, process control and optimisation, and process analytics, together with business and project management.
