You take taught modules (75 credits), a group project (15 credits) and an individual project (90 credits).
The taught modules typically include: Internet programming; information management; system security; enterprise distributed computing; system design; system validation; distributed algorithms; and recent developments in the Internet and web.
The focus of the six-month individual project is normally a system design and implementation project for networked computing. Opportunities exist for undertaking your project with industry, and our students have completed projects for a number of well-known IT companies (eg BT, HP, SAGE, Prism Technologies, Broadmedia Technologies).

A second-class (2.2) Honours degree in computing science or a Joint Honours degree in which one of the subjects is computing science. We also consider applications from science graduates with several years of relevant industrial computing experience. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based) or 577 (paper-based), or equivalent.
