The MSc and Diploma are approved/ accredited for students seeking CEng registration by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. The programme also links in with the Rolls-Royce graduate training programme. Eight technology streams are available for those studying for the MSc or Diploma: naval architecture; marine engineering; offshore engineering; small craft design; classification and survey; conversion and repair; defence; and marine renewable energy. In addition, a general programme in marine technology may be followed by students who do not wish to specialise in a particular area.
For the MSc you take four core modules (40 credits), six specialist modules (60 credits) and complete an industry-based project within your organisation (80 credits). For the Diploma four core modules (40 credits) and four specialist modules (40 credits) are taken, and a shorter industry-based project is completed (40 credits).
For the Certificate six modules (60 credits) are taken. For the Certificate (Rolls-Royce plc) a maximum of three modules (30 credits) are taken from the four approved Rolls-Royce modules, and a minimum of three modules (30 credits) from the Marine Technology (MTEC) programme.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

A second-class (2.2) BEng Honours degree or equivalent. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based) or 577 (paper-based), or equivalent.
