This programme involves a mixture of distance learning and week-long intensive schools delivered in Singapore. For the MSc you take 10 compulsory modules (100 credits) and a research project (80 credits). For the Diploma you take eight compulsory modules (80 credits) and a work-based research project (40 credits). For the Certificate you take six compulsory modules (60 credits). Individual modules can be taken on a stand-alone basis as part of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
Modules typically include: marine project management; surveying ships and offshore installations; marine system identification, modelling and control; the regulatory framework for the marine industry; optimisation in engineering design; managing human resources; advanced marine engineering design; ship design and construction; advanced offshore technology; and law for marine engineers.

Normally an upper-second-class (2.1) BEng Honours degree, or equivalent, in a marine technology subject or another relevant engineering subject. Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based) or 577 (paper-based), or equivalent.
