This is a general Masters course in Civil Engineering with taught modules in engineering mechanics, modelling, management, procurement and economics, all delivered in one-week intensive blocks. There is also an integrating group project, and an individual research project.

This general Masters in Civil Engineering is designed for engineers in employment. It satisfies the requirements of a Matching Section for BEng graduates who need additional education to reach Chartered Engineer status and is approved as such by ICE. The course has been developed, and will be delivered, in collaboration with civil engineering employers.

This programme of study is ideal for students wishing to pursue an academic or research-orientated career, and for those seeking employment within the public and private sector.

The MSc in Civil Engineering is made up of the following modules:

* Project Management
* Construction Contracts and Law

For part-time students the integrating project is chosen to specifically link their work with their studies.

Training in research methods is given in preparation for the research project. Research topics are chosen in discussion with academic staff, and a wide range of potential areas within civil engineering and management are available.
