Location of Newcastle University

As this field is multidisciplinary, the course utilises the expertise of several academic schools within the University. You take compulsory modules (120 credits) including: microsystems engineering; microprocessor systems; semiconductor devices; nanoscale science; nanomaterials; mechatronics; biomaterials and tissue engineering. You will also undertake a microsystems based research project (60 credits), the emphasis of which will be towards your chosen discipline.

Requirements

Generally a second-class (2.2) Honours degree, or equivalent, in engineering, mathematics or physics. However, applications are considered on an individual basis and, depending on circumstances, applicants with a lower degree classification will be considered. Applicants whose first language is not English should hold IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 79 (Internet-based) or 550 (paper-based), or equivalent.
