This course is one of three such programmes in the UK, and has been developed as a collaborative venture between the British Dietetic Association and a number of Universities. The programme is designed to meet the academic and professional needs of dieticians working in all areas of dietetics, including clinical practice, education, research and management.
This course builds on current knowledge and experience and has been designed to meet the needs of dieticians employed in a range of settings through a flexible modular structure. The timescale of study will suit professional needs.
Dieticians are recognised by the Health Professions Council. Advanced status is a new area to be recognised by the British Dietetics Association. Upon successful completion of this course, you will be able to lead developments in dietetics and act as an advocate of dietetic and nutrition policy.
The course is constructed around three key themes; advanced professional practice, evaluation of practice/research and specialist practice. Two work-based modules ensure that your professional practice can be developed and enhanced and that the course allows you to develop in a direction that suits your own career.
Students initially complete a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Dietetic Practice. The completion of a research dissertation will then provide eligibility for the MSc award.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
