This two year master programme has a stronger focus on research and can be seen as preparatory for a position as a PhD candidate.

A strong focus on increased effectiveness and efficiency is related to management of business processes within and between companies in supply chains. The purpose is to give the students knowledge in performance management, management accounting and re-configurations of business processes in supply chains together with advanced method knowledge.

Contents

The programme is organized by the Faculty of Business, Economics and Design and is offered by the School of Management and Economics.

A program coordinator is responsible for the program. There is also a programme
council, consisting of students and the programme coordinator. A programme group, consisting of the programme teachers, is also linked to the programme.

Community contacts

The programme has clear ties to industry in that it chiefly builds on empiricallybased research traditions in the relevant knowledge areas, which capture very well current trends and changes in the management and development of business and other processes.

Studies abroad

Study abroad can be included in the programme following consultation with the
programme coordinator. The students can make use of existing agreements with
international universities maintained by Linnaeus University. The students are also
encouraged to find universities outside the existing contracts.

Scope of programme

Working with diversity means making use of and evaluating the diversity prevailing
among colleagues, students and other cooperation partners. This becomes a matter of course in a programme like this which is open to international students. Equal
opportunities may be viewed as an aspect of diversity. In connection with the
consequences of business process management, especially in the courses “Processbased Management Control” and “Logistics Management in Supply Chains”, issues concerning sustainable development and ethics are discussed.

Quality Development

The programme has a programme coordinator, a programme council and a programme group. The programme coordinator has the main responsibility for the administration, quality development and quality management of the programme. The programme coordinator maintains a continuous dialogue with the programme group, i e the involved teachers.

The courses are continuously evaluated by the students in writing. The evaluations are compiled and distributed according to current routines. The current student influence policy means that students are represented in every decisionmaking
body. Reflections and experience are followed up within a year by at least one meeting in the programme council where course changes, course integration and pedagogical and cognitive development are discussed between students and the teacher team in the programme group.
