The International MBA will equip you with the skills to adapt to a fast-changing global business environment. Building on the successful MBA programme offered at Hope, this new programme focuses more specifically on the international business context. The programme is delivered by Liverpool Hope´s Business School, which was awarded a maximum score of 24 out of 24 in the last Quality Assurance Agency national subject review of Management provision in higher education.
The programme deals with practical business situations which relate to your experience as a manager. It is particularly relevant for students from the UK or from overseas who wish to obtain a professional qualification that takes into account cultural differences in an increasingly global market. You will develop an enquiring approach to problems and learn how business management theories can be applied to find practical solutions.
The programme encompasses four major themes which integrate a range of topics within international business and management:
Globalisation - the global business environment and the impact of international cultures, politics and economics on global trade.
Global Business Management - how to do business in a global economy through business strategy, international finance, marketing and positioning strategies, and global HR management.
International Corporate Responsibility - business ethics and international corporate dilemmas. You will explore the impact of cultural differences on ethical decision making and how issues of corporate ownership, stakeholder interests and environmental issues create highly complex environments in which managers are expected to act.
Leadership - what makes a good leader and how individuals have developed as global players.
You will have the opportunity to study in a lively atmosphere, alongside a diverse group of students and a team of experienced staff who are committed to professional development. Taught modules provide a balance between the fundamentals of business theory and the global dimension. The programme also addresses ethical business issues such as international corporate responsibility.
The dissertation component allows you to explore in depth a particular aspect that interests you or an issue that concerns you: it may be within your own business setting, or within any aspect of business or global management. Before starting work on the dissertation itself you will spend time developing a fully outlined proposal for it. Research is subject to commercial confidentiality if required.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
