MPhil/PhD supervision is normally available in the following areas:
Satellite geodesy: GPS and geophysical modelling; GPS geodesy; precise orbit determination of altimetric and geodetic satellites; satellite altimetry; static and temporal gravity field and reference frame analyses from dedicated satellite missions; SAR interferometry; geophysical and industrial deformation monitoring; geodynamics and geohazards; integration of GPS and INS; and engineering geodesy.

Environmental geomatics and metric remote sensing: airborne and satellite remote sensing; environmental impact; land use, vegetation and pollution monitoring; urban systems; photogrammetry; laser scanning; and precise non-contact dimensional control.
Geospatial informatics: Geographic Information Systems (GIS); spatial network GIS; multimedia cartography and information delivery; temporal GIS analysis; geospatial data management.

Requirements

At least an upper-second-class Honours degree, or an international equivalent, in a relevant discipline (geomatics/surveying, mathematics, physics, Earth/environmental science, engineering, computing/IT, geography). Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based) or 577 (paper-based), or equivalent.
