Location of City University London

The MSc in Aircraft Maintenance Management will help experienced aviation industry personnel to improve their knowledge of the complex disciplines required to enable full understanding of the technical, operational and financial pressures impacting on flight operations.

This Programme is one of three parallel MSc Programmes in Air Transport Management, Air Safety Management and Aircraft Maintenance Management.

Teaching and Assessment Teaching



Modules are held regularly in London and in Bahrain, Dubai and Cologne and elsewhere on an occasional basis. This MSc in Aircraft Maintenance Management follows the format of the well-established MSc Air Transport Management and MSc Air Safety Management. Since its inception, it has been supported by AJWalter Aviation, the world leading specialists in the supply, repair process management, exchange and lease of aircraft spare parts and aircraft project management services, .

Assessment



Students are assessed through coursework, examinations and a final dissertation. The pass mark is 50 percent in each case. Students attaining an average mark of 65% for both modules and dissertation will be passed with Merit. Those achieving 70% will be passed with Distinction.


Contents

Course Content The course is based on completing eight modules over one to five years, which are taught over three day periods and held regularly throughout the year.

Students are also required to undertake a project in a maintenance related subject, which is usually completed within six months. Students who choose not to do the project will receive a Postgraduate Certificate on successful completion of four modules or a Postgraduate Diploma on successful completion of eight modules.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

The normal requirement is Category B or C Aircraft Maintenance Engineer´s Licence or military equivalent, or a first degree (minimum 2.1) in an appropriate subject. All students must have relevant aviation work experience at professional level, normally for a minimum of two years.

Applicants who satisfy the basic admissions requirements are invited to attend a free-of-charge introductory module from the list of the course modules. Final acceptance on to the course follows after satisfactory completion of this module.

English Language Requirement

For those students whose first language is not English, the following qualifications are also required:

* IELTS: 6.5
* TOEFL (internet-based): 100
