The MSc is recognised by the General Social Care Council (GSCC) for the Higher Specialist/ Advanced Award in Children and Young People, their Families and Carers. Course Content
It is designed to enhance your knowledge, understanding and skills as a practitioner, enabling you to work more effectively with children and young people with mental health problems, and with their families.
You will examine the current issues in child and family mental health and evaluate the evidence base for best practice, service development and meaningful therapeutic interventions. Course lecturers have backgrounds in social work, nursing, psychology, psychiatry, independent sector management and law.
Who should apply? Students for interprofessional practice come from a variety of sectors including healthcare, education, emergency services, police, social care, nursing or the voluntary sector.
Course Structure
The course consists of eight modules and a dissertation.

* Promoting mental health and well being: working in the wider context
* Mental health problems: early identifi cation assessment and intervention

You may also opt to select modules from other Interprofessional Practice course routes. When you have successfully completed the eight taught modules to achieve 120 credits plus your dissertation, you will qualify for a full Masters degree, or complete eight taught modules to achieve 120 credits and qualify for a postgraduate diploma.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testApplications are welcome from a wide range of backgrounds. You would normally be working with children or young people and will be able to demonstrate by experience and/or professional qualification your ability to undertake this master´s course.
