The only one of its kind in the UK, this course can enhance your promotion prospects and improve service sensitivity and efficiency. It deals with managing and co-ordinating the different services as they work together and deal with civil emergencies. It is designed to fit around the commitments of the busy practitioner working at strategic, tactical or operational levels.
Teaching and Assessment
Teaching Teaching is normally six half-day modules over six to 12 weeks. Teaching and learning involve lecture sessions, expert panels, workshops, small group activities and discussions.
Assessment Modules are assessed through a combination of coursework, projects and reflective practice. All assessments are designed to promote practice development.

Course Content
You will acquire and develop the skills to take control in a crisis and make a positive difference in civil emergencies. The focus is on the value of working together effectively in order to turn procedures into sound interprofessional practice when dealing with individuals, groups and communities in civil emergencies - locally, nationally and internationally.
Who should apply Students for interprofessional practice come from a variety of sectors including healthcare, education, emergency, services, police, social care, nursing or the voluntary sector.
You will need to be a practitioner in a relevant field, such as the emergency services, voluntary and statutory human services, healthcare, education or business.

* Beyond crisis: psychosocial services for survivors of violence

You may also opt to select modules from other Interprofessional Practice course routes.
When you have successfully completed the eight taught modules to achieve 120 credits plus your dissertation, you will qualify for a full Masters degree, or complete eight taught modules to achieve 120 credits and qualify for a postgraduate diploma.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
