The course enables you to develop the knowledge and skills required for advanced practice roles in adult or children's nursing.
Teaching and Assessment
Teacher
A blended approach to learning and teaching is adopted including university-based taught modules; e-learning and work-based learning.
Work Placement
A clinical work placement with appropriate supervision for physical assessment is required.
Assessment
Assessments are varied to meet the practice and academic challenges of a Masters level course, while recognising the need for motivating, realistic and relevant activity. Assessment includes essays; objective structured clinical examinations; practice-based assessments and seminar presentations with supporting papers.

Course Content
The course follows a prescribed route to enable you to meet the competencies required for advanced practice, but does have some optional modules. We also off er specifi c modules for ophthalmic nurses.

* Physical assessment (adult or child or ophthalmic)
* Medicines management

* Independent and supplementary non medical prescribing.
If you have a specific related area of interest, you may be able to select modules offered within the School of Community and Health Sciences.
When you have successfully completed the taught modules plus your dissertation, you will qualify for a full Masters degree or complete the taught modules and qualify for a postgraduate diploma.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
