Course Content
Organisational psychology looks at how people function in work environments. This includes recruitment and selection, training, appraisal, industrial relations, health and safety, technological and organisational change, ergonomics and job design.
These two MSc courses aim to give you a unique combination of theoretical and practical skills and techniques.
Both courses provide professional training in organisational or occupational psychology and equip you with a sound understanding of theory and research across the sub-disciplines of organisational psychology.
The courses also introduce you to the range of practical skills and procedures required of practicing occupational psychologists. We attempt to bridge the gap between theory and practice by teaching both and showing how each is important to the success of the other.
Why choose City University?
The University is located in the heart of London's financial district and the MSc courses offer you a unique opportunity to study in a vibrant, world-class business environment.
City's distinctive location and our academic staff's strong links with organisations help us to provide you with practical, marketable skills, as well as theoretical and research-based knowledge.
The British Psychological Society recently praised our programmes for their 'healthy tension' between academic rigour and professional skills.
In questionnaires, past students have noted that the modules 'relate theory to real life examples' and provide 'descriptions and discussions of practical and real life applications of occupational theory and research'.
We are proud that our courses have been recognised by both our professional society and past students as successfully offering sound theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
We believe that such a combination is unique to this course and very helpful for students who wish to pursue a career in organisational psychology.

The courses consist of eight compulsory taught modules, plus a dissertation. The modules are the same for both MSc courses. Full-time students complete all eight modules and the dissertation in one year. Part-time students complete the course over two years.

* Training, coaching, and research in organisations
* Organisational development and change
