The MRes programme is designed for students who wish to carry out a one-year programme of research under the direction of an academic supervisor of relevant expertise in any of the Modern Languages units. The programme offers students the opportunity to develop advanced research skills in their chosen field of enquiry and is particularly suited to those preparing to undertake doctoral research, although it may also be pursued as a self-contained qualification.

The programme consists of three core modules offering training in research methods and critical theory and the research project proper, for which you will be required to submit a dissertation of approximately 35,000 words.
