This programme is built upon a long tradition of teaching maritime history at Exeter, where it was the first Maritime History MA to be taught at a British university. It is presently staffed by Dr Maria Fusaro, Director of the Centre for Maritime Historical Studies, Dr Roger Morriss, formerly of the National Maritime Museum and Dr Duncan Redford, a Leverhulme Trust Research Fellow.

The research seminar and conference programme of the Centre for Maritime Historical Studies will give you further access to the latest research from leading British and international experts.

You will produce a dissertation on a topic of your own choice having received a firm grounding in technological, economic and social aspects of maritime history from the early Modern period onwards.
