The full-time programme begins on 26th September 2011 and runs through to mid-September 2012. The programme is intensive but is structured to include study breaks and to allow time to absorb the learning and complete your assignments.

Induction

After registering with the University on 26th September, the Induction Programme runs from Wednesday 28th to Friday 30th September. This period will help you in your return to education and will explore how to perform to your best and meet the academic requirements of your Masters degree.

Stage 1 (October 2011)

Between Monday 3rd and Thursday 6th October you will study your first intensive module – The Changing Business Environment. Intensively taught over four days, this module sets the ground for the subsequent business fundamental modules.

Stage 2 (October to December 2011)

From Monday 10th October you will study six modules, stretched over 10 weeks. Each module will consist of a three-hour session on a regular weekly basis. The teaching focuses on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, although occasionally we will also have guest speakers or activities on a Wednesday.

Stage 3 (January to February 2012)

After the Christmas break, you will return to study three integrating modules. These are taught in 4-day blocks (Tuesday to Friday), with a break of a week in-between. These modules mirror a typical ‘executive short-course’ style of teaching, and represent intensive but stimulating immersion.

Stage 4 (March and May-June)

During this period you choose your specialisms and also begin thinking about your major MBA project or consultancy assignment. We offer a wide range of elective modules, all taught in intensive 4-day blocks.

Stage 5 (June to September)

The final element of the programme is the MBA Project, where you will typically be working on a major assignment with an external organisation. Some projects involve a placement in the company itself, while others are based at the University.

Contents

Please note that programme structures may be subject to change.

The full-time MBA takes 12 months to complete, is delivered over three semesters and is University-based (Streatham campus) throughout this time. The taught components of the programme are delivered in the first two semesters, leaving the third semester and most of the summer to research, write and submit your dissertation. The programme in its entirety runs from October to September.

The programmes consist of 180 credits, divided into modules weighted at either 12 or 24 credits. The following table describes the programmes as planned for delivery at the time of this specification. Constituent modules may be updated, deleted or replaced in future years as a consequence of normal programme development. Details at any time will be available from the Business School website. Elective modules may be taken only if the necessary prerequisites have been satisfied, if the timetable allows and if the module or an equivalent module has not been previously taken.
