THE POSTGRADUATE DIPLOMA LEADS TO ELIGIBILITY TO REGISTER WITH THE HEALTH PROFESSIONS COUNCIL. ADDITIONAL STUDY IS REQUIRED FOR MSC.
Radiography is a caring profession that calls for technological expertise. Therapeutic radiographers use radiation to give radiotherapy treatment to patients with cancer. If you are considering this career move, it is essential that you have good interpersonal skills as radiographers have to interact with other healthcare professionals as well as patients and their families, many of whom may need considerable reassurance. This course will focus on the professional elements required of a therapeutic radiographer. The aim of the programme is to further evelop the analytical, theoretical and practical skills of an honours graduate so that they can demonstrate the necessary attributes required for a registered therapeutic radiographer. This will enable employment within the UK.
The PgDip is designed as a six semester programme delivered over two years of full-time study. Academic and clinical modules are integrated throughout the programme by developing clinically-focused themes. All modules are core. Additional study is required for the MSc (optional).
