Our flexible, contemporary and responsive postgraduate programme is designed to allow dietitians to select a range of modules appropriate to their own personal and professional development. Individual modules may form part of an award or "stand alone" as part of your own continuing professional development. Modules available include both University and work-based study opportunities.

Students may study individual modules and gain the master's level credits or complete a planned programme leading to one of the following awards:

* Masters Degree 180 credits

* Postgraduate Diploma 120 credits

* Postgraduate Certificate 60 credits

Programme philosophy is to

* facilitate independent learning and reflection in practice.
* enhance specialist professional skills.
* explore the evidence for practice.
* recognise the place of research in the continued development of the profession.
* In addition, the programme offers the opportunity to share ideas with other health professions in order to develop intellectual abilities and assist in advancement of health care.

The programme is part of the Postgraduate Framework within the School of Health and Emergency Professions and offers a flexible opportunity for study. Students undertake modules which are discreet packages of study, each of which is assigned a credit value. A master's award is requires 180 credits. Students who choose to finish their studies after completing either 60 or 120 credits will be eligible for the award of a postgraduate certificate or postgraduate diploma respectively.

Students may also take one or more individual modules on a `stand alone' basis. At present, the programme is available only on a part-time basis and students may take up to six years to complete the MSc Dietetics (Advanced Practice). The programme includes a combination of dietetic modules, research modules and interprofessional modules.
