The LLM Programme has a very strong commercial foundation and accordingly it is not a surprise that the Commercial Law pathway continues to be very popular with students. Commercial Law is central to international business in the 21st century world and If you choose to study this named pathway then you will study two compulsory modules (Company Law in Semester A and Commercial Law in Semester B) as well as two options (one each semester), to give you a total of four modules of study.
The LLM’s assessment strategy is ideally suited to the needs of all students being assessed exclusively by coursework. We also provide an excellent level of pastoral and academic support for our students, including a Programme Director alongside the module tutors and also extensive research support through our research methods and skills course that runs throughout the year. Social events are organised on a regular basis.
For international students we have a dedicated International Student Support Tutor and all international students are provided with access to free English language classes throughout the academic year. At the commencement of your studies international students are provided with a two week full-time induction week, which will ensure you are fully up to date with the dynamics of the English Legal System and provide you with the best start possible prior to commencing your studies.
Careers
The University has an extensive careers service available to all students, while the School has two academic members of staff, former solicitors, who hold regular ‘surgeries’ providing careers advice including CV writing, interview skills and suggestions for obtaining work placements during your studies at the School.

You will be given comprehensive module guides and reading lists at the beginning of each module to enable you to read widely and research issues independently.
