The MSc Dermatology Skills & Treatment was developed in 2006 by Veronique Bataille, Julia Schofield (Consultant Dermatologists West Herts Hospital Trust) and Madeleine Flanagan and offers the chance to learn with other health professionals and will be of interest to GPs, hospital doctors, nurses and other Allied Health Professionals working in related disciplines.
* This programme is offered on a modular basis to fit in with existing commitments.
* Modules can be studied on an individual basis & typically require 5 days university attendance together with independent study.
* It leads to the award of MSc Dermatology Skills & Treatment or the interim awards of Postgraduate Diploma and Postgraduate Certificate in Dermatology Skills & Treatment.
Careers
This postgraduate programme offers the opportunity for generalist clinicians to develop more specialist dermatology knowledge. However, the programme is sufficiently robust for clinicians already working in this speciality to update and enhance their knowledge and skills. The programme

* Develops the knowledge and skills required to competently manage patients with commonly presenting skin disorders

Work placement
Full Time, overseas students do not require GMC registration as this programme does not require direct patient contact and management. Please click here to read the GMC's section New Registration Framework. However, students wishing to study the Skin Surgery Skills module or to use their clinical skills whilst in the UK will need to seek GMC advice prior to commencement.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

* Registration with a professional body allied to medicine or health.
* A good honours degree, in a related discipline.
* 1 years’ full-time experience (or equivalent) within a relevant field of practice.
* The English language requirement for this programme, IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 580 or equivalent1.
* The appropriate visa status to study in the UK2
