The Department of Mechanical Engineering for Energetics of the University of Naples "Federico II" is proud to present the Master Uninauto - Second Level Master in Automotive Engineering.
Uninauto Master is turned to graduates in the various areas of industrial engineering who completed their regular 5 year degree course or 3+2 years course.The objective of the Master is to create engineers: - who are highly qualified to operate in the today´s automotive industry and in its parts production sector and who, moreover, have a specific interest in innovation, product competitiveness and firms internationalization; - who are capable of managing integrated vehicle systems.
During the Master there will be:
- lectures by university professors with a strong, general technical
-scientific preparation in the field of vehicle engineering;
- lectures by business community operators with significant experience in automotive area;
- contributions by personalities of industrial and scientific world;
- stage to some of the supporting companies where the students can put into practice what they have learnt in theory;
The objective of the Automotive Engineering Master course, sponsored by the Mechanical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering of the University Federico II, is to create engineers:
- who are highly qualified from the perspective of today´s automotive industry and firms operating in the automotive parts production sector and who, moreover, have a specific interest in innovation, product competitiveness and firms internationalization;
- who are capable of managing integrated vehicle systems since today´s automobile product and the techniques related to its design, manufacturing and assembly-line processes are so complex and sophisticated that they need high level know-how, in addition to top-ranking specialized technical skills.
- Graduates in the various areas of industrial engineering who completed their regular 5 year course or 3+2 years course, attaining the degree certificate before the deadline for admission to the Master course.

The Course is scheduled to last 1500 hours (400 hours of lectures, 850 hours in the laboratory and individual study, 250 hours in practical work experience and work on the thesis).
The Course is divided into four periods, divided into 3 groups of teaching activities:
I Period: basic Activities common to all Participants
II Period: Activities divided into address A and B, held in parallel and dedicated respectively to the engine system development and to the vehicle system development.
III Period: Activities of completion that relates to issues of cross value (that interest both addresses);
IV Period: Concluding Activities, consisting in a training period in a Promoting company and in performing a final thesis.
Lessons and laboratory will be held five workdays per week and also the period of practical experience is based on a five workday week. Absences must not exceed 20% of the total hours of activity. At the end of the Course the participant will have to present a thesis, the subject of which will be assigned by the Course Council during the period of practical experience.Tests for each subject are scheduled at the end of each semester. The final test consist in the discussion of the thesis. The program includes a SAFETY DRIVING COURSE offered by AlfaRomeo and held by its test pilots.
Activities will begin in January 2009 and end in November 2009 (including practical experience c/o the supporting firms and discussion of the thesis).
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testTo apply to the Master, student must posses a regular five-year degree in Engineering.
Students are admitted to the program based on their qualifications and the results of examinations. The maximum number of students admitted to the course is 25.
EU and not-EU citizens can apply to the Course. For these last, a regular permission to stay in Italy is required.
