Challenging career options
IMMIT provides the latest knowledge on these challenges and contributes to develop the organizational competencies required to respond to them, in an international context. The program is designed to prepare students with a background (bachelor) in either business and/or information technology / computer science to become "hybrid" managers at the interface between Information Systems (IS) and business functions within an increasingly international business context, for example:
* Manager of international IS projects: e.g., deploying global ERP systems
* IS management positions, e.g. Chief Information Officers (CIO), IT managers,Information Manager
* Business analyst /Designer of systems to support transnational operations
* IS strategy consultant in internationally operating companies
* Manager of IT Offshore Outsourcing
* IT Entrepreneur
In today's globalised business environment, the effective management of transnational operations is a key imperative. Consequently, these new hybrid managers will need to master global operations. IMMIT will prepare candidates to understand the issues and to find the solutions that are needed to effectively design, deploy and manage the necessary transnational operations.
Networking in a multicultural environment
One uniqueness of the program is that all participants form are gathered in a cohort, i.e. the same group of students start and finish the program together. Thus, students develop strong links with one another, a common identity, and an effective alumni network that is useful to their future career. An advantage of the cohort experience and program mobility is that participants develop the awareness to cultural diversity and necessary cross-cultural management skills essential to enable effectively the design and deployment of systems internationally. In addition to the contribution provided by Third-Country Scholars, Executives from several European Firms contribute to IMMIT as guest speakers at the three universities and thus reinforce the cross-cultural aspects of the programme.
Universities and Mobility The IMMIT cohort, i.e. the same group of students start and finish the programme together and the cohort moves to a new European location each new semester, moving from France, to Finland and then to The Netherlands.

Teaching approach
IMMIT uses a variety of methods such as group work, case discussions, action learning, business simulations, faculty-cohort interaction and the use of information technology especially a common web-based communication platform used by all partner universities and students for programme related communications. As the courses delivered in this programme are a normal part of the curriculum of the participating universities, teaching staff is available throughout the degree programme.
Grading of exams may be completed after the students have left the campus to move to next location. Results are communicated through intranet or common web-based platform used by all partner universities and students for communication. In case students need to resit exams, the university where the student has moved to (the new location in a new semester) provides the necessary facilities and proctoring to make it possible. The exam questions are forwarded from the preceding university to the current one.
