The Agris Mundus Masters course is a two-year training programme of 120 ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) in agricutural development and management of natural resources.
Six of the most important european universities convene into a consortium and design the Agris Mundus Master of Science.Their large experience in training and research, the international cooperation in which each partner is involved, are key factors in facilitating the linkage with the profession

Graduates will acquire the qualifications and skills to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the development of crops, forests and animal production, the management of research and rural development projects and finally, the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment.

The Agris Mundus MSc has been selected by the Erasmus Mundus programme. Thus, EU-funded scholarships are provided for third country nationals participating in this Master courses.

Contents

This integrated Master programme based on 10 designed training tracks involves:
- the first year (M1) in one institution, and
- the second year (M2) in a second institution of the European Union.

Depending of the option choosen the study tracks M1/M2 are as follow:
1. Water management : operation and design (Wageningen Univ. & Univ. of Copenhagen)
2. Water management in rural development (Wageningen Univ.& Montpellier SupAgro)
3. Water management in horticulture (Wageningen Univ. & Univ. of Catania)
4. Safe production in horticulture (Univ. of Copenhagen & Univ. of Catania)
5. Livestock systems management (Univ. of Catania & Montpellier SupAgro)
6. Agricultural development (Univ. of Copenhagen & Montpellier SupAgro)
7. Food chains and development (Univ. of Cork & Univ. of Copenhagen )
8. Rural local development (Polytechnic Univ. of Madrid & Montpellier SupAgro)
9. Agricultural systems for local development (Polytechnic Univ. of Madrid & Montpellier SupAgro)
10. Food Security & rural development ( Univ. of Cork & Montpellier SupAgro)

Whatever the training track is, all the Agris Mundus students attend:
- a common orientation week before the commencement of the first year (M1)
- a common research methodology workshop at the beginning of the second year (M2).

The 4th semester is devoted to the thesis work whose defence will take place in front of a mixed jury (from the M1 and from the M2).

The Agris Mundus MSc is a product of NATURA the network of European Universities for Higher Education tropically and subtropically oriented in agriculture.

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

All the students, irrespective of their country of origin or of the training track they candidate to, are subjected to the same criteria.

* Bachelor of Sciences (180 ECTS) in a field related to agricultural development or a BA in the Social Sciences or equivalent
* Verified excellent quality of the institution where this first degree was obtained
* Excellent academic background supported by 2 letters of references
* Strongly convincing letter of motivation

Preference will be given to candidates with appropriate professional experience and strongly convincing recommendations by an academic or a professional body.

There are two rounds of admission, depending the nationality or country of origin of the applicant.

Language test : once selected, the candidate will be asked to produce a certificate in the language of his chosen M1 training. When a candidate fails to produce a successful language test before arrival, her/his admission will be cancelled.
