Kent's MArch architecture programme is validated by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), and the award is prescribed by the Architects' Registration Board (ARB) as giving exemption from Part 2 of their professional examinations.

The MArch programme is divided into two stages and focuses on design excellence and architectural education to the highest standards, and the development of sophisticated communication skills.

Internationally based design projects give you the opportunity to examine topical issues and overcome the traditional boundaries between planning and architectural design. These projects develop your ability to speculate, research, analyse, apply critical judgements and refine your work.

Stage 4 includes a Minor Design Project with conceptual investigations of a theoretical premise. Stage 4 also features an Urban Landscape Project, which involves teams of students in broad-scale planning issues.

Stage 5 allows students to develop their own Major Design Project which is accompanied by a design and a technical report.

Additionally, an Independent Study Project gives you the opportunity to explore an area of individual interest, building on the diverse range of resources available.

There is an opportunity to study abroad at Stage 5.
