The Master in International Management/CEMS is a two-year, full time program taught entirely in English. It is specially designed to meet the needs and trends of the global marketplace in an international and multi-cultural setting, creating a stimulating learning environment through the wide variety of professional, academic, and research experience brought to the classroom. It gives participants the academic and practical knowledge they need for a successful international career.
Double degree
With this high quality Master´s program, students have the opportunity to earn two prestigious degrees in management simultaneously. Upon graduation, students receive both a WU Master´s degree and a CEMS Master´s degree CEMS/MIM. The Master in International Management provides students with the know-how and expertise necessary to succeed in a global business environment and to be come tomorrow´s leaders.
The Master in International Management/CEMS program has maintained a top position in the Financial Times ranking for six consecutive years: 2nd place in 2006 and 2007, 3rd place again in 2008, 1st place in 2009, 2nd place in 2010 and 2011.
The academic program is divided into four 4-month terms, worth a total of 120 ECTS credits.
First semester
An intensive one-week kick-off seminar is followed by a number of compulsory core courses (foundations) intended to provide students with basic skills in international management. In addition to these courses, students may choose from a wide range of electives.
Foundations:
Second semester
The focus lies on strenghtening the students` theoretical foundations and on gaining international experience. Half of the students will spend this semester at one of the CEMS partner universities. A business project for an internationally operating company will be conducted, and students will gain working experience abroad in an internship during the summer break.
Third semester
The development of specialist knowledge is the main target in the third term of the program. Students will deepen their functional understanding of the material by choosing electives at WU or at one of the CEMS partner universities.
Fourth semester
Students will concentrate on and complete their Master´s thesis, focusing on international management. Students' thesis advisors are available for personal consultation throughout the writing process.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Students applying for the CEMS MIM program will also have to demonstrate sufficient English language proficiency at the time of application. WU accepts the following proofs of competence:
Proof of Bachelor of Science (Management/Business) from domestic or international accredited university
Proof of English proficency (e.g. TOEFL 600/250/100, IELTS 7.0 or CAE Certifacte in Advanced English, English as a mother tongue or Bachelor degree with English as language of instruction)
