Is your aspiration to join the ranks of general management in business organisations or become (management) consultant? As strategic management is an essential general management skill, it prepares you for a career in management. In addition, strategic management is also essential in either internal consulting or external consulting. The Master´s programme in Strategic Management will highlight the professional challenges and responsibilities that you will face in both career types. You will also be given tools to develop critical and independent thinking and general problem-solving skills.


Contents

The programme consists of 60 Credits (ECTS), equivalent to 1680 hours of study, offered over two semesters. The first semester starts in September, with exams in December and January. The second semester runs from January to June, but is divided in two. From January to March, you will take two courses. From April on, you will be able to focus on writing your Master´s Thesis.

Requirements

In order to have access to the Master's programme Strategic Management, you need a solid basis in the following areas:

* Organisation Theories
* Academic Training
* Economics
* Management or Marketing

Proficiency in English is required. Students who did their Bachelor´s in the Netherlands, native English speakers and applicants with a Bachelor´s degree from a programme entirely in English are admitted without a test. All other students should have a minimum Academic IELTS score of 6.5 overall (6.0 minimum on parts), or, alternatively, a minimum IBt TOEFL score of 90 is necessary. Scores on separate parts are also evaluated, since candidates must possess good reading, writing, and oral skills. Even if these requirements are met, the programme management reserves the right to refuse a candidate because of, for example, capacity constraints or diversity of the student population. In addition, applicants need to send in their GMAT test score as part of the application package. The average GMAT score of admitted students is 600.

The following characteristics are not required: Candidates with work experience are welcome, but work experience is not a prerequisite to enter the programme.

If you meet these requirements, you have a good chance of being accepted to the master's programme in Strategic Management.
