Location of Palacky University

Erasmus Mundus Master Course Euroculture is a unique, multilingual, interdisciplinary and inter-university project combining theoretical knowledge and practical skills (Eurocompetence).

The load of the programme is 90 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System) points which represents 16 months of full time study.

It is conducted jointly by eight renowned European universities which provide double degrees (MA in Euroculture):

* Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic)
* Jagiellonian University in Cracow (Poland)
* University of Deusto (Donostia-San Sebastian, Spain)
* University of Groningen (The Netherlands)
* University of Göttingen (Germany)
* University of Strasbourg (France)
* University of Udine (Italy)
* University of Uppsala (Sweden)

The primary aim of the Euroculture programme is to prepare graduates from Europe and third-countries for professions in which knowledge of present Europe and European Union institutions are of relevance. It also aims to create projects and joints ventures between EU and third countries. The focus of the programme is on cultural and social developments: its inheritance as well as its standards, values and citizenship.

To prepare high level personnel for the fields of international relations in embassies, ministries and other international settings. Also as experts at European and international organisations, universities, firms, able to work in projects at local, national and European level.

To develop research and analysis of immediate recent past, present and possible future trends in the field of EU relations and specific world areas, particularly in the fields of education, professional research and culture: research institutes, technological parks, museums, etc.

To develop further links with embassies and ministries of education in EU-third countries, further improving the language of common understanding and co-operation.


Contents

Students spend the first semester at one university of their choice. The second semester the student stays in one of the host universities of the network and in the third semester the mobility pattern is based on the choice of the selected profile (either home either host university).

Requirements

Admission may be granted to applicants who meet the following criteria:

* Candidates must have already obtained a first higher education degree (Bachelor's degree) in a discipline of relevance to the fields of European culture and history, European studies with a focus on cultural relations, or intercultural studies.
* Candidates must meet certain languages skills: English is a precondition (a TOEFL score of 580 points old style, or 92 points new style, or a score 6.5 of IELTS) and other European languages are taken into consideration in the selection process.
* Study Mobility Periods abroad and Practical experience in European and/or international organisations and institutions is valued.
* Completed application forms received.

Selection criteria include motivation; academic qualifications; language skills (preferably in European languages); research experience and professional experience.

* Academic credentials, with copy of Diploma and, if available, Diploma Supplement
* Certified copies of academic transcripts
* Academic and professional CV
* Letter of motivation
* English proficiency test (Cambridge Advance Certificate, TOEFL test results 580)
* 3 passport-sized photos
* 2 reference letters
* A copy of the applicant's passport
