The aim of the Master's programme is to deepen the students´ competence in promoting the welfare and health of families through family work and family health care. Theoretical and methodological competence in family health care refers to encountering families as clients, particularly in the context of mental health and substance abuse, in order to promote the families´ resource-based welfare and health. The development project included in the programme can be used to influence health promotion on an individual, family, community or social level by producing new information and competence. This is done by using research data to develop innovative work methods and to promote family welfare and health. The Master´s degree allows for individual, professional and innovative development as well as lifelong learning for professional experts with a degree from a university of applied sciences.
