Programme:
The programme "Master of Arts in Transport Management" prepares students for managerial functions and leadership positions in nationally and internationally operating companies in the transport industry. Students get a deeper understanding of concepts, methods, and techniques for managing companies in general and companies of the transportation sector in particular. The combination of profound academic knowledge and its practical application is constantly pursued and constitutes a major objective of the programme.
Target group:
As a consecutive Master programme, this programme aims at Bachelor graduates in the field of business/ economics, transport/ logistics, or a related field. Also graduates from transport-related engineer programmes can apply provided that they possess a fundamental basis in business/ economics. Work experience is not required.

Emphases/Curriculum:
After an initial overview of research methodology, students step directly into the world of transportation. It provides students with a set of management tools and develops a broad understanding of the specific economic aspects of the transport industry. Students also learn to transfer these skills to the transport industry and develop their ability to work on a strategic as well as on an operational level. The use of quantitative methods and specialised business intelligence systems for solving specific industry problems rounds out this programme.
Practical and international orientation:
The effective combination of theory and practical applicability is an essential feature of the programme. With the help of case studies, practical exercises and project work, students shall be enabled to apply the theory and transfer it to real-life business situations.
